What are Single Vision Lenses?

Single vision lenses correct for one viewing distance across the entire surface of the lens. Common vision conditions such as Myopia, Hyperopia and Astigmatism can be corrected with single vision lenses. If you are nearsighted or farsighted, single vision lenses are the perfect solution, providing vision correction for one viewing distance – whether far or up-close.

What is the difference between Single Vision Lenses and Progressive Lenses?

Both single vision and progressive lenses may look similar, but both lenses are used to correct different vision conditions. Single vision lenses correct for one viewing distance; progressive lenses provide vision correction for all distances, providing a seamless progression between near, intermediate and distance viewing. Progressive lenses are typically used to correct presbyopia, a gradual, natural condition within the eye that reduces its ability to focus on near objects.
